LEGENDS NEVER DIE

Robert Nesta Marley would have turned 69  today.
The number one question I ask myself is what is left of his message of love, freedom and happiness 33 years after his death?

Bob Marley is probably the best-known musician worldwide, a legend, hero, a symbol of peace.
Sometimes I do get the feeling, however, that he is known nowadays for all the wrong reasons.
If you go to IKEA you'll find Bob Marley pillows.
If you go shopping you'll find Bob Marley T-Shirts, posters, lighters, bracelets and if you looked long enough you would even stumble across toilet seat stickers and what not.
Selling products with the legend himself or with one of his memorable quotes is a million dollar business but isn't the over-commercialism a contradiction to his message of finding happiness in what truly matters?
What happened to “Don't Gain The World & Lose Your Soul, Wisdom Is Better Than Silver Or Gold”?

What happened to "Money can't buy you life" or "The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires"?

Personally, I believe that instead of focusing on how you can make even more money by selling fan articles one should rather sit back a minute and think about what Bob Marley actually left behind.

At least that is what I will do now by listening to one of my favorite songs:
