For some odd reason I absolutely enjoy watching passionate foodies cook.
Now that makes me sound like the lazy oh-this-smells-so-lovely-can-I-try-some kind of person I actually am but I honestly find true comfort In watching people doing what they really love.
I have experienced that you can usually categorize people that cook into two main groups: the ones that follow a recipe and the others who like experimenting.
The choreographed ones and the freestylers.
The choreographed cookers on the one hand try their hardest to follow a routine which is given to them by a cookbook.
Every step that they are going to take has been arranged by somebody who knows that in the end the whole "performance" is going to work out.
The risk is thus rather low but so is their creativity.
On the other hand, we have the freestylers.
I just love watching their playful dance with different ingredients, adding spices for a more dramatic appearance or reducing them for a minimalistic show where the main focus lies on the actors themselves.
The way that they passionately direct the individual ingredients to make them work as a crew is simply fascinating to me.
The outcome, however, is always a risk as it can either thrill or disappoint your high expecting audience.
Yes, for some odd reason I love watching passionate foodies cook- but I love it even more when they let me take part in the "rehearsal" by serving me tiny pieces here and there before the performance is fully finished.
