I guess that you make the same surprised face I made when I first heard about the project called "Saught" launched by a 24 year-old law graduate.
Pamela Yeo found the business after a trip to Laos in December 2010.
Her vision is to turn material, which was previously used for producing bombs and land mines into fashionable handcraft.
At first I found the idea a bit morbid but that was before I found out that she uses the earnings for helping those who suffered under the war.
Since February 2012 Singaporean Pamela Yeo even runs an online store with two friends, Adeline Heng and Ng Sook Zhen (http://saught.com.sg).
When I first heard about it, I was excercising on the treadmill zapping through different channels in desperate hope for distraction.
I still had a good 10 minutes to go and time would not pass by.
It was probably the word "jewelry" that caught my attention so I decided to watch the Channel News Asia for a bit.
I was completely absorbed by listening to that young Singaporean woman who passionately explained her vision of peace.
Without noticing, my time was over but as I wanted to know more about the project I decided to finish the programm while casually standing on the stopped treadmill.
Although I had good intentions a "sunbed brown" blond lady would tap me on the shoulder, sarcastically asking if my workout was finally over.
Unfortunately I missed the end, however I was so taken by the project that I felt like sharing the beautiful vision of peace.
