I love quotes.
I just love how you can throw them into somebody's face when you can't think of a cool comeback yourself.
I love how it makes you sound literate and interested and knowing and smart even though you didn't even have to make up anything of the cool stuff you just said.
Opening a party by announcing "Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night"? Legendary.
Ordering food on the first date by casually saying: "I'll have what she's having"? That girl is basically yours.
We stumble across quotes all day long, probably without even noticing.
Let's say you just came home from a stressful day at work, take off your coat, (probably don't take off your shoes because it's too much effort) and turn on the TV because you are in the mood for watching some trashy series.
Whilst zapping through the different channels you might come across "Big Brother," an expression which is usually associated with aging wannabe celebrities desperately crying for attention.
One should not forget, however, that "Big Brother" is actually referring to George Orwell's masterpiece "1984" and the quote "Big Brother is watching you."
That is just one example of how integrated citations have become in our daily lives.
Well, enough for today but don't worry -
